Aaryama Salim
Aaryama Salim is an Indian actor, born September 19th, 1994 in Mumbai to actors Anita Salim and Salim Ghouse.
He has had tremendous exposure to the performing arts, owing to the fact that his parents started their theatre company "The Phoenix Players" in 1984. He has borne witness and imbibed the disciplines that are acting and theatre since early childhood. However, his professional journey as an actor began in 2015. He has performed in various productions in English and Urdu under the direction and tutelage of Mr. Ghouse, and has assisted and conducted theatre and movement workshops with the company at Prithvi Theatre, Ranga Shankara, the FTII and Mumbai University.
His father's continuous emphasis on all round development as an actor and his own obsession with learning have led him to pursue a high degree of competence in other fields as well. He is a classically trained Martial Artist and a 3rd degree black belt in Goju Ryu Karate-do since the age of 2, having been trained under Mr. Ghouse (who was himself an 8th degree black belt). He is a trained dancer in Jazz, Ballet and Contemporary forms with The Danceworx performing arts academy, and has received training and instruction from eminent choreographer Ashley Lobo, ballet master Yehuda Ma'or, and contemporary savant Yuko Harada. He has also been a professional PC gamer.
In his free time he enjoys reading, writing, sketching, playing the guitar and training in gymnastics
