Ben DeJesus
Ben DeJesus is an award-winning, Emmy and Tony-nominated director/producer/writer and co-founder of NGL Studios with partner John Leguizamo. As a filmmaker, DeJesus has over a decade of experience in the US Multicultural, Latinx, and youth markets, creating over 100 hours of content including non-fiction, episodic television, documentary, music videos, and branded content. In his recent Broadway debut, Ben was nominated for a Tony Award as a producer of John Leguizamo's Latin History for Morons and directed the PBS documentary JOHN Leguizamo's Road To Broadway, for which he won his first Imagen Award. He has also directed multiple episodes of BUNK'D, one of the top-rated sitcoms on Disney.
DeJesus began his career as a stage actor before interning at MTV, where he became one of the original producers and writers of the iconic series MTV Cribs. His passion for pop culture, music and theater has fueled his work since. At NGL Studios, he directs and produces a growing slate of original television, documentary, non-fiction and digital projects. In 2019, his critically acclaimed documentary Raúl Juliá: The World's a Stage premiered in LA, NYC, and PR to sellout crowds, culminating with a 2020 EMMY nomination in the Best Documentary or Non-Fiction Series category as part of the PBS American Masters series. The film also won DeJesus' second Imagen Award, along with the Best Latinx Film award from NALIP (National Association of Latino Independent Producers).
