Chhatrasal
Chhatrasal is the first historical epic, based on the life of the unsung warrior King Chhatrasal of Bundelkhand. Its story goes back to 16th century India when the burgeoning Mughal empire was expanding under the leadership of tyrant Aurangzeb, who mounted towards Delhi and dethroned his father Shahjahan, declaring himself “Alamgir Aurangzeb” which means “conqueror of the world”. Around the same time in Bundelkhand, it was predicted that a child will be born, who would free his people and bring them back to their motherland. The child was named Chhatrasal and he went on to become the symbol of Bundelkhand’s identity. The series showcases Chhatrasal's valor, bravery, and struggles against Aurangzeb. Maharaja Chhatrasal was an ardent disciple of Mahamati Prannath Ji, who guided him through all the difficulties during his lifetime. For someone to be a king, Chhatrasal had the unique qualities of a brave warrior & a spiritual leader. He was a hero from medieval India, who never lost any battle against the Mughals and continues to inspire the youth of the Bundelkhand region even today. Among the well-known places of Bundelkhand is Khajuraho, which has numerous 10th-century sculptures devoted to fine living & eroticism. The nearby town of Panna is famous for the mining of some of the most exquisite diamonds. The series stars many award-winning actors such as Neena Gupta & Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles.
