Faisal Hashmi

A mechanical engineer turned cinephile, Faisal Hashmi's journey to becoming a director is like Tony Stark becoming Iron Man. With an acute and an unusual sense of telling stories, Faisal is a comic book geek with a collection of over 6,000 comic books and an avid filmmaker specializing in the horror, sci-fi and thriller genres. His claim to fame has been two mega successful Gujarati films - 'Vitamin She' (rom-com) and 'Short Circuit' (sci-fi). While Vitamin She was a box office phenomenon, Short Circuit got him nominated at all major award functions across Gujarat making it one of critics' favorite films. It was also the first ever Gujarati sci-fi movie.
