Fiona Mackenzie
Fiona Mackenzie is a former Hollywood studio executive and creative with over 20 years of experience in the development, writing, casting, financing and production of studio films, television movies, digital content, and premium series television. She founded Ascent Media Group to produce high quality entertainment with an international perspective. Launched in 2017, Ascent Media Group now has a robust slate of features and scripted series in development with European production companies and media financiers. She has spoken on panels and has been an invited guest to many major film and TV markets, including the Dubai Film Festival, Venice Film Festival, Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, AFM, MIP TV, Real Screen and others. Prior to launching Ascent Media, Fiona held senior level creative and executive positions at Sony Pictures, 20th Century Fox, and Lionsgate, and developed projects ranging from 2M to 100M USD. At Sony Fiona was the Vice President of Features and Television at Turman Morrison (American History X, Oscar Nominee) and later held an in-house producing deal at 20th Century Fox/Davis Entertainment (The Black List, I-Robot, Courage Under Fire...) She is the lead producer on "Warrior Queen", set up at Paramount Pictures, an 80M British historical action epic, and she helped to launch the first season of the hit series, "The Highlander" in Paris, with Gaumont/Lionsgate. She built her first production company in Paris/London, writing and producing international documentaries for CNN, Canal Plus and ABC. Fiona earned her BA from U.C. Berkeley in Economics and her Masters from Georgetown University's Graduate School of Foreign Service in Washington DC. Honored for her academic work in international media, business, and diplomatic relations, Fiona was chosen as a White House Intern. She was also a US Foreign Exchange student to the Dominican Republic and Geneva, and is fluent in English, French and Spanish. Today, Fiona resides between Los Angeles and London, and is a dual US/ UK citizen.
