Francis Chouler
Francis is a South African born actor living and working from Cape Town. Born the youngest of four to a German/Dutch mother and English South African father, Francis was schooled in two of Cape Town's Rudolf Steiner schools before attending the University of Cape Town, where he received his four year Bachelors degree in acting 'cum laude' in 2010. Beginning his career in theatre, Francis has played 4 seasons of Shakespeare at Maynardville open air theatre in Cape Town.
He first came to international attention in the 2010 Bollywood action film Crook: It's Good to Be Bad where he played the lead antagonist opposite Emraan Hashmi
Francis appears as Jack Cleary in fellow South African and Academy Award Winner Gavin Hood's thriller Eye in the Sky, opposite Alan Rickman, Helen Mirren, Aaron Paul and Iain Glen, which opened Toronto International Film Festival in September 2015. Television includes Netflix/ BBC's The Crown, Amazon's The Widow. Francis will play John Rawlins in the upcoming "Ulysses Grant" mini series on The History Channel.
Francis recently appeared in first commercial for Rolls Royce in 40 years, directed by Lena Heady of HBO's Game of Thrones.
A keen improviser, Francis is a member of "The Longshots" improvised theatre troupe and performs regularly in Cape Town. He recently performed his first solo theatre production in Nocturne by Adam Rapp to critical acclaim.
