Félix Rose
Félix Rose has always been fascinated by history, and he developed a social and political conscience at a young age. As a teenager, he discovered cinéma vérité, in particular the work of Pierre Perrault. After studying film and television, he earned his first credits as an editor and screenwriter for the web series Temps mort (2010-2012). He debuted as a documentary filmmaker with Avec la gauche (2014), which followed the campaign team of a Québec solidaire candidate. In 2017, he co-directed the film Yes with Eric Piccoli, about a Québécois artist meeting the residents of a village in Scotland during the lead-up to the referendum on Scottish independence. His most recent documentary, The Rose Family (2020), is the result of nearly 10 years of research that saw him amass an archive of more than 50,000 documents related to the FLQ and the October Crisis, along with many previously unseen interviews on a pivotal moment in our history.
