Laron M. Chapman
Laron Chapman is an active freelance film production assistant and aspiring screenwriter residing in home state of the Oklahoma Sooners and NBA Thunder team in Oklahoma City. The oldest of 12 children, Laron grew up in a single parent household with his immigration attorney mother Milissa Tipton. His passion for the cinema inspired him to attend and later graduate from The University of Oklahoma (OU)with a Bachelor's Degree (BA) in film and media studies.
During his higher education, he became involved with his school paper, serving as the university's resident entertainment writer as well as interning for The Oklahoma Film Commission Office (a local organization that offers tax incentives for prospective filmmakers, issuing grants and licenses for filming in the state). He received honors for his work in screen writing and was the recipient of the late Al Neuharth's USA Today Free Spirit Journalism scholarship.
Following his higher education, he became actively involved in local film/television productions including: August: Osage County (Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts; Weinstein Co.;2013) Rudderless (William H. Macy, Laurence Fishburne; Unifed Pictures; 2013) Splinter (Indion Entertainment Group; 2008) American Idol (FOX; 2012), Say Yes to the Dress (TLC; 2013), The Pioneer Woman (Ree Drummond; Food Network; 2013), as programs for The History and Discovery Channel. Having worked for many industry professionals and a wide-range of prestigious networks and studios, he has embarked on a driven path to success in Hollywood's competitive entertainment industry.
