Laura Dotson
Laura Dotson is a featured auctioneer on the hit reality show Storage Wars on A&E. Born Laura Christine Payton on May 13, 1968 and raised in Thousand Oaks, CA, Laura is a proud mother, wife, and business partner of American Auctioneers and StorageAuctions.net.
In 1996 Laura met Dan Dotson, who later became her husband and her business partner. The couple have a son together and Laura is also a loving stepmother to Dan's two older sons from a prior marriage.
Laura has played a vital role in Dan reaching new heights in the auctioneering industry. She is the co-owner and manager of American Auctioneers which currently specializes in auctions of storage units, estates, business inventories, and equipment, plus legal/foreclosure auctions, fundraisers, and appraisals. Laura averages two auctions a day, six days a week and with her help American Auctioneers has grown from three hundred auctions a year to over three thousand!
Laura has been in the lime light from some time now and she has earned every minute of it. She has been a contestant on TV game shows such as; The Price Is Right, Family Feud, and Let's Make A Deal, she has made cameos in Early Edition, Home & Family, and Hot in Cleveland, and also appeared on talk shows like; Anderson Live and Fox and Friends.
In December of 2010, both Dotson's began appearing on A&E's Storage Wars, a reality series which follows professional buyers and their teams as they bid on storage units that are in default. Ordinarily, Dan acts as the auctioneer and Laura as the ring-woman, but these roles are occasionally reversed.
Laura always has a smile on her face, but don't mistake that for weakness. She is a multilingual, savvy business person, with the gift for gab and a zest for life. Currently American Auctioneers handle three thousand auctions and appraisals per year, making Dan and Laura America's #1 Auction Team! "Don't Forget To Pay The Lady!"
