Lauren Darlene

NAME: Lauren Darlene was born in Palo Alto, CA, she was raised in Detroit, Michigan as a child, Later she moved to Atlanta, GA where she spent time developing her love in the craft for acting, and music. Eventually moving back to California in the heart of Los Angeles to continue pursing her passions in the entertainment industry. CHILDHOOD: She grew up around music at an early age, her father produced music for MC Hammer, Dj Uncle Luke, and were next door neighbors to Rapper Sensation Kurtis Blow in Woodland Hills, CA. Her mother put her in performing arts schools to receive the best education. Every summer in Detroit Lauren auditioned and enrolled in theatrical programs for fun without realizing she found her passion for acting/music. When she turned 16 she bought studio equipment and learned how to make beats, and self-record herself on Pro Tools engineering her own music. CAREER: Living in Atlanta, Lauren studied the acting industry while being on set doing background, stand in work & photo doubling for many different projects that were filming in Atlanta. That's where she began to look at things from a professional level watching A-List actors maneuver. Lauren took her career seriously and got into acting classes at LS Acting Studios in Atlanta, GA with Acting Coach Louis Stancil. In 2020 Lauren booked her first Series Regular role on a web series that is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime called "SELF the Series" Since then Lauren has booked her first TV Network billing, a Co-Star role on TV series Step Up with STARZ. TRAINING: She is always in training with the best approved Acting Schools and Coaches in the game. Lauren believes practice makes perfect and hard work beats talent. She says no matter how far you get in life, continue to be a student of learning. WHY ACTING & MUSIC: She started performing young, rather it was in front of the TV reenacting what she saw or actually performing on a stage in front of an audience. Acting brings a lot of happiness to Lauren, she feels it's an expression to release and also an art imitates life, life imitates art kind of way. When it comes to music it pours right out of her. She can hear melodies in her head, and lyrics that comes to her so fast. OTHER ENDEAVORS: She started her own business "Not Afraid of Art LLC", where she plans to build a foundation in the entertainment industry for artist to have creative control. Not Afraid of Art is not only a business but a cultural movement she plans to enlarge.
