Lawrence Murphy
Lawrence William Alexander Murphy moved to Gold Coast, Queensland from Switzerland, at the age of five. His heritage is a mix of Irish, Flemish, and English ancestry.
At 19, Lawrence's path led him to Western Australia, where he continued to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering with a major in Civil Engineering at the University of Western Australia. Upon graduation, he commenced employment as a Graduate Project Engineer, however, the allure of his true passion, performance and storytelling, proved irresistible.
Discerning his heart's desire, Lawrence shed his engineering role and secured an agent, embarking on a journey into the world of acting. During his time at The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, he honed his skills as an actor, writer, deviser, producer and director, graduating with a Bachelor of Performing Arts majoring in Performance Making.
In 2019, Lawrence, along with his fellow student and close friend Oscar Millar, co-founded Lazy Films, a production company dedicated to bringing compelling stories to life. In a remarkably short span of time, Lawrence has amassed a remarkable body of work, having been involved in over 50 projects spanning the realms of film, theatre, commercials, and content creation. While his journey began with a focus on acting, it has become evident that Lawrence possesses a diverse range of talents that he brings to the creative industry.
