Lourdes Llanes
Born in Asunción, Paraguay in 1967. She studied Folkloric Dance and Recitation, receiving a degree as Professor of Recitation and Interpretation. Currently she is director of the Lourdes Llanes Acting and Literary Arts Academy, where she teaches poetic interpretation. She has created several solo poetry recitals, one paying tribute to three renowned women of Latin American poetry: Alfonsina Storni, Juana de Ibarouru and Gabriela Mistral. Since 2002, she has participated in the Poetry Reading Cycle at La Manzana de la Rivera in Asunción, Paraguay, which is done in collaboration with the Embassies of Switzerland, Spain, Colombia and Italy. She has studied acting with Margarita Irún, Hedy González Frutos, Agustín Núñez, Tana Schembori, Ana María Imiscoz and Arturo Fleitas, among others. Her theatrical resume includes "The Bald Soprano", "Yerma", Orinoco", "The Prodigious Shoemaker's Wife", "Women", "Román Paladino", "Pure Talk" and "Electronic City". She will venture into television in January 2005, co-starring in the comedy series "GZ versus B", with producer Maneglia-Schembori, to be seen on Telefuturo.
