Dominican born and New York and New Jersey bred, Luis Jose Lopez got an early start as a dancer and singer in various musical groups and tour the US and latin america. He landed his first tv and film job in the series 'Now and Again' alongside John Goodman and the movie "center stage' as a lead Salsa Dancer.
Luis Jose Lopez relocated to Hollywood when he was tapped to play series regular "Georgio" on FOX's MyNetwork telenovela 'American Heiress'. The series also featured Joe Magangiello and AnnaLynne McCord. Following the series, Lopez starred in several independent features including 'Playball', which was filmed in his native Dominican Republic and earned him a Dominican Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.
Returning to television, Lopez quickly found memorable guest starring roles on Modern Family, CSI: NY, Undercovers, CSI, Southland and Major Crimes
Luis Jose Lopez appeared in the CBS Hallmark Hall of Fame movie 'Beyond The Blackboard' opposite Emily VanCamp and Treat Williams. Lopez played "Carlos" a young alcoholic father who finds himself on the streets , Cited for his fearless and authentic work,Lopez garnered a Best Supporting Actor Imagen Award nomination.
When not on set,Luis Jose Lopez is honored to lend his time to several worthy organizations including After-School All-Stars - an organization bringing cutting-edge enrichment programs to K-12 students that contribute to reducing drug use, crime, and violence.
