Lukas Ettlin

Lukas Ettlin is a director and cinematographer, most well-known for his work on Black Sails, Lincoln Lawyer and Battle Los Angeles. He was born in Luzern, Switzerland and started his career as a teenager, remaking Back to the Future in German, shot for shot, VCR to VCR. After graduating from NYU film school, he won the ASC heritage award and started working as a cinematographer in music videos and commercials. After acclaimed short films like Rings, Genesis and Catastrophe and Fast Forward, he had his break through shooting Michael Bay's Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and additional photography for Transformers. Following a successful career as a cinematographer, Lukas has become a prolific TV director, with shows like Power, Counterpart, Daredevil, Jack Ryan and Barkskins to his credit. He has also stepped up to the role of producing director on multiple seasons of Black Sails, See and 2020's The Old Man.
