M@tch
Matthew "M@tch" Ray was born the son of a FBI cryptologist during the Cold War in our nation's capital. After his father was transferred to The Great White North, Match was cast in a PSA about drunk driving and sparked a fire within.
At an early age he realized he ran to the beat of a different drummer. Finding a knack for sound production in theatre, he was his hometown's youngest sound & lighting technician. He worked part time in their only theatre while pursuing drama and dance throughout Middle and High school.
During his High School Sophomore year summer break, he packed up a 'mountain (back)pack' and bought a one-way ticket out of Alaska.
It was the Summer of 1988 and M@tch was only 17 when he hitchhiked to Los Angeles with only $15 dollars to his name and two bagged loaves of bread made into Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches to start his life in the entertainment industry.
He finished his High School years taking several units of Drama/ Movement/ Theatre/ Production (& extra curricular clubs) per semester while working & touring w/ the local Speed Metal band: Deliverance, working production & sound. A week after graduating, He read for the then burgeoning episodic 90210 and was offered a role on the show. 3 days later he was filming in the Disney Film Encino Man as "Link's Friend". During his time with Deliverance he performed with All The World's a Stage outdoor theatre troupe as well as production & sound.
Finding his home on stage, in any form, he finished Broadcast School in Burbank and was then installed into two FM Rock shows in LA for almost 5 years- followed by producing his own online HxC ("Hardcore" metal) show as well as singing at a local coffee house and in a local HxC band.
Singer, supporting/ voice-over actor, producer, production & sometimes minister, this multi-hyphenate has performance in his blood.
