Malik James
Born July 21, 1997 in San Antonio, Texas, raised in Houston, Texas who always had the acting bug. Malik's first exposure to the theatre was at Hightower High School in Missouri City, Texas in which he played the role of Uncle Henry in The Wiz. After graduating from high school, Malik enrolled at Texas State University majoring in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations. After enrolling in a theatre class at Texas State University, his professor encouraged him to change his major and become apart of the BFA program.
Malik has extended his acting studies by participating in multiple workshops such as Leah Daniel-Bulters actors workshop, David Talbert scene workshop, Brock Allen Casting - Auditions, on-camera taping, and received intensive productions studies at the British American Drama Academy (BADA) Oxford Program, Royal Shakespeare Company, Birthplace and Trust Education and The Globe. At Texas State University, Malik had served in multiple lead, sold-out theatre roles such as The Importance of being Earnest, Crucible, and Lyon's Den.
Malik graduated Cum Laude at Texas State University with BFA in Acting, May 2020 for which he has been inducted into the Council of Scholars and earned a minor in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. Malik is currently attending David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University earning his MFA. He will graduate in May 2024. He is AEA-Eligible due to his first professional debut role as AJ in The Choir Boy in 2022.
