Mallika Singh Born and based in Mumbai, India.
Studied at Tridha, A Waldorf school based on Rudolf Steiner's curriculum, affiliated with the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), UK.
Primarily a Theatre performer, she has worked with various theatre practitioners over the last nine years, to name a few - Trishla Patel (Tpot Productions), Purva Naresh (Aarambh), Rajat Kapoor (Cinematograph), Atul Kumar (The Company Theatre), Gagan Dev Riar (Play On), Raghav Dutt (Rangbaaz), Rajit Kapur (Rage Productions), Sujay Saple (Shapeshift Collective)
Theatre includes : Luigi Pirandello's - Six Characters in Search of An Author, Parey, Chaar Small (Prithvi Theatre), Ishq Aaha - a musical ode to the love legends of Punjab (NCPA, premiered at the Centre Stage Festival 2015), Eugene Ionesco's Rhinoceros (Prithvi Theatre), Cinematograph's What's done is done inspired by Shakespeare's Macbeth and Hamlet the Clown Prince (Prithvi Theatre), Detective Nau-Do-Gyarah (Aadyam Theatre Festival, an Aditya Birla Initiative, performed at St. Andrew's Auditorium in Mumbai, The Royal Opera House, Mumbai and Kamani Auditorium, Delhi and at 'The Hindu' Theatre Festival across India)
Shapeshift Collective's Do You Want Me To Stay For Anything In Particular - a concert by Japanese Sound Artist Mitsuaki Matsumoto and Lullaby Stranger - a choral performance conducted by Salome Rebello (G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture, Mumbai)
In 2020, among other digital projects during the lock down, she curated Theatre film Theatre, A Festival of Short films along with The Company Theatre, Mumbai. A virtual festival, with young film makers remotely shooting experimental short films based on / inspired by Plays and performed by theatre artists from across the country.
She has worked in the capacity of a Technical Director for a show titled 'O Gaanewali', a virtual interactive music concert about the songs and lives of the Tawaifs of India. Performed and shot at Harkat Studios, Mumbai, supported by British Council and Goethe Institute (2021)
Her most recent work was A rehearsed reading of the play Translations by Brian Friel Directed by Arghya Lahiri and Jimmy Fay. A partnership between Rage Productions, Mumbai and Lyric Theatre, Belfast as a part of The British Council's Connections through Culture India-Northern Ireland Programme. This partnership brought Indian and Irish theatre artists together to explore themes of colonialism, communication, and language.
A short play online, in the times of COVID-19, Cross Connection written by Yogesh Utekar and directed by Shivani Tanksale. It was a part of the New Play Festival produced by Rage Theatre and Enact Arts Theatre (a South Asian theatre company based in the USA)
Assisted in Direction of a performed dramatic reading of a German play IDOMENEUS written by Roland Schimmelpfinneg. Translated to Hindustani by Asad Hussain. As a part of the German Contemporary theatre translation project in partnership with Studio Tamaasha Mumbai and Goethe Institute, Mumbai.
