Monica McCarthy
Monica McCarthy is a Broadway actress known for understudying Laura Linney, Anna Gunn and Alicia Silverstone, as well as acting in television (The Blacklist, The Noel Diary, Mildred Pierce).
Following her success in the theater, Monica spent several years as a travel writer (over 50 countries on 6 continents), community impresario (hosting hundreds of on-stage interviews and panels), public speaker (TEDx, Janders Dean), Emotional Intelligence facilitator for organizations including the renowned The School of Life, guest lecturer at Barnard and Columbia, and as the creator and host of the popular live event and philosophy podcast, The Happier Hour.
In 2019 Monica returned to acting, studying with Tony Greco. In 2021 she made her debut as a director and screenwriter with the dark comedic thriller, Survival Job, which was filmed in an off-Broadway theater during the pandemic and is now garnering multiple awards and festival invitations. Monica is completing her thesis for her M.A. in Creative Writing & Literature at Harvard University.
