Monti Sharp
Emmy Award-winning actor Monti Sharp is a native of Monroe, Louisiana. The youngest of five siblings, he received professional actor training at the highly acclaimed University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and subsequently began his professional theatrical career in New York City.
From there, Monti began performing off-Broadway and in many of the nation's leading regional theaters including the Guthrie, Arena Stage, The Alliance Theatre, and New York's Shakespeare Theatre at the Public among others. He has gone on to appear in top films and television shows such as Dead Presidents, Get Smart, NYPD Blue, ER, 24, Malcolm in the Middle, Prison Break, Modern Family, and more. He has appeared on several top daytime dramas including 'General Hospital', 'As the World Turns', and 'Guiding Light' where he won the 1993 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series, as well as the Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Newcomer that same year.
Monti has appeared in a number of national commercials both on-camera and in voice-overs. He has written and directed a handful of short films and is an avid visual artist with several pieces in public and private collections across the USA.
In 1995, Monti earned his Private Pilot License VFR(SEL). He holds a black sash in Wing Chun Kung Fu, and a yellow belt in Seido Karate. Monti lives in Los Angeles, California, where he continues to develop his creative interests.
