Muhammad Aasim Qamar
Muhammad Aasim Qamar is an IT-Professional turned independent filmmaker who was brought up in Nigeria right from his childhood. He finally shifted to India in 2010 to pursue his masters in Filmmaking at ASMS, Noida. His first short film in 2011 was a romantic silent short film called Lovebook, after which followed Ittihaad, I hate my Mother & The Shadow.
In 2013, he joins Uncommonsense Films, where he went on to make short films like Humsafar, Muftnosh, Ibtedaa, That balloon Girl and Upar Neeche Darmiyaan. Apart from short films he has been involved in several commercial advertisements and corporate films.
His has a good command on the romantic genre, but loves to play around with different genres.
His short films Lovebook and Muftnosh have got him 3 Best Director Awards in India and abroad. All his movies have been well received among the Internet audience and critics, and traveled to numerous festivals around the globe winning several awards.
