Patrick Garcia is a South African film director, producer, writer and all round animation and VFX Guru. Patrick Garcia has been in the film and television industry for over sixteen years having specialized in both live action and animated feature films. Known for turning productions on a micro-budget platform into lucrative and successful productions and characterized by his unique vision and way of storytelling, his rapid pace edits, stylistic visuals and pragmatic use of special effects makes him one of South Africa's most dynamic and creative directors. The Zen's' a 3D Animated hit television series for which he won best short animated film in 2008, earning him a reputation as one of Africa's leading animation film directors. Specializing in both film and animation, Patrick started out directing television commercials which led him to work for many international high profile companies. He has also worked alongside some of the most talented animators and artists in the industry such as Jessica Abrams (Pixar Animation) Jijo Sujathan, (DreamWorks), Tessa Comrie (Triggerfish Animation), Alex Mandel (Pixar Animation) who has worked on award winning animated shorts and epic box office hits such as Toy Story 3, Monsters University, Brave, Up, and Cars 2. Patrick's current films include the multi-million dollar 3D animated sci-fi, "The Body Defenders" (In Production), the gripping horror/thriller "Hell Trip" (Completed), "Last Sacrament" (Post Production), "Magic: Last in Transformation" (Pre-production) starring award winning actor John Savage, "Rise of the Dome" (In Development) among several other productions slated for production mid next year. Patrick is also the founder of ACT Animation Films, a visual effects and animation studio based in Johannesburg and has since produced visual effects for many top production companies in the USA, UK and Australia.
