Prana Songbird
Prana Songbird was born in Detroit MI. Her childhood was primarily spent in Louisiana and California. Born into a musical family, her Grandfather was one of the writers from Motown to work with Barry Gordy in the early years. Her uncles and cousins are also singers, musicians, writers and dancers. The creative genes flowed strong through this little bird. Shortly after high school she began singing professionally in musical theater and working as a solo performer.
Back in Detroit, she began working with some of her mentors. Paul J Miles, a talented singer, songwriter and promoter helped to build her style while Candice Amber Williams became instrumental in building her confidence in performing on stage. Wardell Montgomery, was one of the first songwriters to share an original song with her, while Mike Thomas helped her to find her voice.
After spending several years in Detroit, she moved on to Southwest Florida where she resides. She has continued to grow as an artist, a singer, an actor and performer in general. While she does have an affinity to being behind the camera directing, the camera loves her as do her fans. She is touring with The Honey Creepers Band and in production with 3 C's productions as Melinda in The Hanging Millstone.
