Ra. Venkat

Ra. Venkat was born in Madurai district and brought up in Ramanathapuram district. He was driven by a passion for the cinema from a young age. He came to Chennai to become a director in the Tamil film Industry. He worked odd jobs until he was able to make enough contacts in the direction department. His first break came in 2010 when he was taken on board as an assistant director for movies; such as "Mandhira Punnagai" directed by Karu Palaniappan, "Yathumaagi" directed by R. Balakumar, "Vaalu" directed by Vijay Chandar, "Kirumi" directed by Anucharan Murugaiyan and "Rekka" directed by Rathina Shiva. The Tamil feature film 'Kida' is his debut film as a director.
