Rachel Nicholls started her career in the entertainment industry completing a Diploma of Commercial Broadcasting at The New Zealand Radio Training School in 2007. She then went on to work as a presenter and newsreader, among other roles, for The Radio Network (now NZME). Radio lead her from Wellington to Auckland where she first discovered acting; studying the Meisner technique with Michael Saccente. Acting became her passion and over the last seven years Rachel has worked on a large variety of Television and Film productions. Her acting has been recognized nationally; winning the New Zealand Best Short Film Actress award in 2014 for her role in Blind Mice as well as internationally with a nomination for Best Actress at the Grand OFF Film Festival in Poland for the same film. Rachel has become increasingly driven to influence positive change around the portrayal and representation of women in film and media. In pursuit of this goal Rachel has expanded her passion for film to include producing and directing.
