Ryan Oksenberg
Ryan Oksenberg is a writer, director and editor from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Oksenberg got started in documentaries with the online "cult favorite" documentary (1M+ views), "Cease To Exist" (2007), which explores the music motive to the Manson murders. His series, "Life Line Booth" aired on Participant Media's TV network, Pivot. Ryan's thriller short, "Damage Control" premiered at the 2018 Fantasia Film Festival and was awarded Best Thriller, Best Director and Best Actor by Top Shorts Film Festival in 2019. It is now on Alter.
His horror/dark-comedy short film, "Together" premiered at the 2019 Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in the 'Bucheon Choice' international award competition. It made its North America premiere at the 2019 Fantasia Film Festival. He was awarded $50K by StudioFest to direct his first feature and "Best Screenplay" at the 2020 Galician Freaky Film Festival. It is now streaming on Alter.
In 2020, Ryan completed his dark-comedy short, "Teardrop." His quarantine shorts he shot alone in isolation, the "New Not Normal Trilogy" was awarded "Best Shut-In Short" at the 2020 Nightmares Film Festival and has played at premiere genre festivals around the world.
He is in preproduction on his feature film, "Foibles' set to shoot in 2022.
