A successful career in kids television (this includes 52 episodes in a lead role in the YTV series Monster Warriors as well as many other credits across the Family Channel and Nickelodeon network) transitioned into a successful career as an adult. A 5 year break from the screen to have her two children only strengthened her passion and resolve for a career on screen. Lara has booked a number of lead and supporting lead roles in the last few years and has also added to her creative repertoire by channeling her work in Toronto as a sommelier into a successful collaboration with New York based company Thrillist in the new web show "Wine and Cheeseburger". Lara Jane Penelope Shamack Binamé was born on April 18th, 1990, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Her parents both European immigrants; she is of British, Belgian and Scottish descent. Her father, Charles Binamé, is a critically-acclaimed film director; her mother, a commercial producer. She has one younger brother, who works as a director & DOP. Growing up, she took part in theatre performances every summer and spent time on set, alongside her father. After graduating high school, she studied Arts & Culture while modelling for a year - leaving the industry due to its demanding physical standards. She went on to study Studio Art, Fine Art and Scriptwriting in university, while auditing psychology classes, and spent her early twenties building a career working as a freelance copywriter and content creator; making strides through the creative marketing world and running her own online magazine; showcasing mavericks of all kinds through writing and photography. With a keen eye and interest for sharing the human experience in storytelling; a sharp shift towards acting came as a natural transition. In 2016, while training out of Montreal with local coaches, as well as attending a workshop with MGM's previous head of casting, Seth Yanklewitz, she asked a former modelling/talent agent to submit her for roles. After her third audition, she was cast in indie film Allure (2017), starring Evan Rachel Wood, and booked a TV debut role on CBC's The Detectives (2018), followed by parts on Braqueurs (2016) and on MGM's The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair (2018). Shortly after Allure's screening at TIFF, she moved to Toronto in 2017 - where she continued to train, namely with West Coast's Jeb Beach - subsequently appearing on NBC Universal's Taken (2017), Hallmark's Good Witch (2015) and CBS's Clarice (2021).
