Laura Cassidy was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and grew up in the beautiful, yet quiet, resort town of Destin, Florida. Laura attended Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where she graduated summa cum laude with a degree in theatre and music. Shortly thereafter Laura moved to Los Angeles to pursue her lifelong dream of working in the film industry. Before moving into film, Laura got her start in the theatre, both directing and sound designing. Her original score and sound design for the play Shadowlands won an international showing at the Prague Quadrennial (Czech Republic), one of only 14 professional sound designs to be showcased. With her first company, Two Guys a Girl and a Production Company, Laura helmed 2 short films, Voicemail and Back (recipient of the 168 Film Festival Audience Choice Award), and a web-series, Shadows. She now resides in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is a Producer and Creative Director for her company, Indie Darling Films. However, Laura is still perhaps best-known for a bit role in the cult classic, awesomely-bad movie Birdemic: Shock and Terror, a career move that will haunt her dreams and her IMDB rankings forever. ;)
