Makenna was born April 14 1993 in Plymouth. Soon after, her family moved to Milton Keynes to live somewhere with more potential for her and her 3 siblings, where they still remain today. Makenna pursued performing from the age of 3, where she attended a local dance school and took ballet and character lessons. This then developed into a competitive hobby, where she fell in love with the stage. Aged 7, she picked up drama lessons and soon found this is where she belonged. After several years and numerous community theatre productions, Makenna was put into commercial auditions, and after securing a role on a TV advert, she was hooked, and has since been pursuing her career in TV and film acting. Over her 5 years experience, Makenna has collected numerous screen credits including recently taking on one of the six lead roles in 'Fallen States' feature film 'David and Goliath', which is set for US cinematic release in early 2015. Alongside her fast developing acting career, Makenna loves to travel, and last year completed a trek to Everest base camp.
Makenna started her acting career at 12 years old appearing in several national commercials and guest starring television roles. She got her big break in 2016 when she earned a series regular role on the new television show American Woman (2018) starring alongside of actresses Alicia Silverstone and Mena Suvari. The show, debuting in 2018 on the new Paramount Network, takes place in the 1970's and is based on the real life story of Kyle Richards. Makenna plays the role of "Becca", the rebellious and intellectual daughter of "Bonnie" played by Alicia Silverstone. Working on American Woman has been a dream come true for Makenna, allowing her to showcase her comedic strengths while simultaneously exploring the issues of racism, inequality, and the feminist movement. Makenna is also known for her recurring role on the Emmy and Golden Globe winning series, Transparent (2014), where she plays the part of Young Sara. The role has afforded her the great honor of learning from and working with award winning actors, Jeffrey Tambor and Judith Light. Makenna's future goals include obtaining an extraordinary collegiate education, continuing her environmental activism, and blazing a path in politics.
