Piyush is a screenwriter who began his career as a copywriter at some of the best advertising agencies in India before establishing Drink Water Architecture and Design, an independent creative agency focused on brand strategy, retail, and design. He made his foray into films as a screenwriter for Bhoothnath Returns, a supernatural comedy feature helmed by his long time mentor Nitesh Tiwari. Piyush was one of the co-writers for 2016's Dangal, a biographical sports drama that received tremendous critical acclaim and enjoyed a record-breaking international run, grossing 340 million USD worldwide and an unprecedented 190 million USD in China. He also co-wrote Tiwari's next feature, Chhichhore, a coming of age comedy-drama, which emerged as one of 2019's most successful films.
