His new feature film 'Post Mortem' is apparently the first Hungarian horror ever made. It was Hungary's official entry for the Oscars® in 2022. So far, the film was screened on 44 international film festivals, selected for 24 main official competitions, and won 28 awards. 'Post Mortem' was the best-selling Hungarian movie around the world in 2021. Its distribution rights were purchased for nearly 130 countries from Great Britain to India, the Americas to Japan. In 2020 Peter Bergendy was awarded the national Balázs Béla Prize for his outstanding services in the arts and motion pictures. He is a natural storyteller, has a cinematic approach to heuristically convey emotions and develop sincere connections to his subjects.
