During childhood, Partha was a shy and a reticent child. His mother Protima Manna is a housewife and his father Bikash Chanda Manna is a farmer working in their own piece of land. In spite of being part of a non-filmy family, Partha since the age of 16 began to take keen interest in the world of cinema.
