However, after graduating college with a degree in Criminal Justice and minor fields of study in Psychology and Theatre, he went to work for Children's Protective Services, helping child victims of physical and sexual abuse. After relocating to the NW in 2012, he again focused on acting, with a specialty in film.

Patrick Davies is a New Zealand actor and director, known for playing Greg Winston in the hilarious horrorcom I Survived A Zombie Apocalypse (2014) and Jean-Luc Bastille in the web series[Title=10360064] (2019). He was born in Taumarunui to NZ Railways Signal Inspector Desmond Davies and Forsyth Barr Investment Services Secretary Margaret Davies . He attended the University of Otago's Drama Department after beginning a degree in Music. He also studied Physics and Psychology at this time. On it being 'suggested' that he might leave the discipline of Music due to his high volume of traffic with the Theatre Dept., after one year he became Theatre Manager for the department, following his interest in Lighting and Lighting Design. During this time he designed, installed and operated more than 50 shows around Dunedin. In 1986 he attended the very first workshop of the then unknown 'Theatresports' in Dunedin, and later went on to become Artistic Director of Improv Inc. He captained the very first gold medal-winning team in Edmonton, Canada, representing New Zealand / Aoteaora. He began his professional acting career in 1995 when he was cast in Aunt Daisy at the Southernmost Professional Theatre - the Fortune Theatre. At this time he also began his double degree in Theatre and Film Studies. He became widely known for his physical comedy abilities as well as achieving success in dramatic roles. In 2002/3 he was widely praised for his portrayal of Kiwi legend James K. Baxter in Mike Riddell's Jerusalem, Jerusalem, achieving 5 star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival. He subsequently began his Master of Theatre Arts (Directing) at Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School and Victoria, University of Wellington. He has performed, directed and taught in Canada, England, Germany, Japan, Romania, Scotland, Serbia, United States of America, and Wales He has continued to act, direct and improvise in all the major theatres of New Zealand, as well as being a Casual House Technician at Wellington's BATS and Circa Theatres.
