Puja Kolluru
Puja Kolluru is a filmmaker currently based in Hyderabad, India. She has graduated with honors from Ringling College of Art and Design, FL, USA, in Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Film with a specialization in Screenwriting and Directing.
She has a unique voice in telling stories, integrating experimentalism into realistic narrative films, and her poetic mannerism brings greater depths in her writings and movies. At the same time, she brings out stories of people in their truest sense with her documentary work.
Puja has proved her skills in writing and directing with her thesis film 'Reflection', which has won both Best Film and Best Director Awards at Ringling film festival juried by one of the Tribecca Jurors, Gary Giambalvo. The Film has also been an official selection at four international film festivals.
Puja Kolluru's first feature documentary, 'A Woman Who Climbs Trees', an inspirational biopic of a reputed National Geographic Scientist Dr Meg Lowman, has won Special Jury Award at Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, 2020. In addition, the Film has been an official selection at Sarasota Film Festival, USA and was screened at multiple other film festivals worldwide.
Puja Kolluru mentors and teaches at Annapurna College of Film and Media as a Guest Faculty in Screenwriting and Production. With a keen eye for the cinematics and significant depth in her stories, Puja Kolluru ventured into Telugu Film Industry. She is currently working on a web series named 'Colour', co-writing a feature film screenplay with the critically acclaimed filmmaker Venkatesh Maha and preparing for her theatrical debut.
