Barbara Lombardo, born and raised in Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina, studied acting at the Julio Chavez Theater School in Buenos Aires. She began her career playing the role of "Vanina" on the television series "Resistiré". The show broke records and was a huge hit with a strong fan base. The story centered on young woman ("Cristina") who is told she is not who she thinks she is and is actually the missing daughter of activists who disappeared in 70's Argentina. This film earned multiple international award nominations including a win at the San Sebastián Festival. Additional film credits include: "The Mugger", "El Hombre Que Corría Tras El Viento", "2001 Mientras Kubrick Estaba En El Espacio".
